As mentioned in the Message from Mark's family this site has been made static. This means that it will be no longer possible to comment on his ideas and projects, but that we all can continue to cherish his creativity.I think it is just an Audi AMI issue with the ipod classic. Audio specialist said the AMI struggles reading bulk data and suspects that it chokes on the 160 GB, but he can't figure out why it worked for 5 months.I have the same issue with A8 2011 - recently bought gently used - it worked fine for the first month and a half, then literally was on a 2 day drive from Chicago to Denver and it just stopped. Not that I want to exaggerate my own skills or such, but I had to go into three days of total Zen to get this done and in the end I had to hand-solder 88(! A drip of solder already was too big and I must’ve had an angel on my shoulder when I soldered this.in short: I’m gonna make sure this adapter, which is now a working prototype (as you can see in the video) is going in to production. The geek in me says it's a software issue, but I cannot find anything anywhere to substantiate my claim.I would like Audi to simply replace the entire AMI system, but I understand their reluctance to do that.
I found this site while researching the same problem with my new i Pod touch and my 2008 A6 Avant.and no either says not recognized or recognizes it but shows all the tracks as duration and plays none.It might show all the titles, other times it lust lists them as "track". the sales pitch this adapter enables you to take out all moving parts from your current 1G, 2G, 3G or 4G i Pod. The adapter (and thereby your i Pod) will be able to hold Compact Flashcards up to 128GB with this. Upgrading your current i Pod is just better than just to go out and buy a new one…^_^ If you’re willing to buy such an adapter as the perfect upgrade for your 1G, 2G, 3G or 4G ‘normal’ i Pod, leave your mail-address and I will only send you one email once I’ve got all the details pinned down. This problem occurs everyday at no regular interval and is not a connection problem. It has no faults diagnosed by Audi engine management tests so they are stumped.make sure your ipod cable is the latest which has a blue end.i know for a fact that when you connect to itunes they change the ipod firmware without you there is a software update for the mmi system/phone also causes luck! I'm looking to see if there's a way or some sort of override, so that I can control the songs being played by using the i Pod itself - having to go through the A4 stereo system is not working! Dealer and audio specialist can't figure out the issue.ipod plays perfectly in '06 Infiniti M45 and other vehicles. On the other hand, this is my 4th A4 so I should get some credit for brand loyalty.Any insight or assistance will be greatly appreciated.
